“Today We Celebrate what makes you Uniquely You!” I believe that each and every person is special. I think that everyone is unique. I also believe we are exactly who we are supposed to be.

Today we Celebrate the pioneers that fought for the rights that we have today. I know that we have more mountains to move and more barriers to break down but I applaud everyone’s efforts that have paved the way to where we are today.

I want to say Thank you to the advocates that use their voices and stories to advocate for the changes we need to see moving forward.

It is no surprise that they chose July as Disability Pride Month with it also being the month of the Americans with Disability Act inception back in 1990. This month we Celebrate all that we ARE!

I take great pleasure in celebrating all the things that I can do and things that I do in a new and unique way since my paralysis onset. I find myself feeling like it is my personal mission to help educate others that although I may do things a bit differently and from a different height than someone else, that doesn’t mean I am not able. I am just doing things the best way that I have found that works for me. I may have a disability with walking but I still am using my other abilities to help myself and my family.

Today I Celebrate what makes me uniquely me, and what makes you uniquely you. I Celebrate everyone within the disability community. Happy Disability Pride Month and the 33rd Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act.
