Hello Again, I Can and I Wheel followers and friends!
It’s been a while—okay, a long while—since we last connected here. If you’ve been following along, you may have noticed that this space has been quiet for the past two years. Life has a funny way of moving quickly, and sometimes, despite the best intentions, things don’t unfold the way we expect them to. For that, we owe you a heartfelt apology—and an even bigger thank you for sticking with us. It is a New Year, we have new ideas, and we are excited for the new updates we have to share.
A lot has happened during that time. Over the past few years, I was in college earning my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare and Medical Humanities. When I graduated this past May, I fully intended to jump right back into blogging. However, as life often does, it had other plans. Between pursuing a new career path, diving deeper into advocacy work, and preparing for the Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania competition, the blog naturally took a back seat.
That said, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news—I earned the title of Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania! This experience has been truly life-changing. It has been humbling, empowering, and incredibly inspiring, opening doors to new opportunities in advocacy, community building, storytelling, and networking. It also reignited a passion to share experiences, amplify voices, and reconnect with this community in a meaningful way.
With that renewed energy comes another exciting announcement: my amazing friend Brooke is officially joining me! Brooke brings fresh ideas, creativity, and an incredible spark to this space. Together, we’re reimagining what this blog can be and where it can go. She’ll be co-creating blog posts, brainstorming new content, and helping shape upcoming projects—from guest features and collaborations to the possibility of launching a podcast or hosting a monthly online support group. Brooke has a wealth of ideas and resources she’s eager to share, and we can’t wait to bring them to life with you.
So, what’s next? Think new logo, new look, and fresh new content designed to inspire, uplift, and connect. You can expect posts centered on advocacy, personal reflections, and community stories, along with exciting collaborations, meaningful discussions, and maybe even a few surprises along the way. Our goal is to create a space where voices are heard, stories are celebrated, and genuine connections are built.
We are incredibly energized by this next chapter and deeply committed to keeping this blog active, engaging, and consistent. Whether it’s Jamie’s reflections, Brooke’s insights, or content created in collaboration with our amazing community, we want there to be something here for everyone. And we’d love your input, too—after all, this is your space just as much as it is ours.
To everyone who has stayed with us through the quiet moments, thank you. Your support, patience, and encouragement mean more than words can express. It’s your connection that inspires us to keep going, to dream bigger, and to grow together. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’re just discovering us now, there’s a place for you here. As we move forward, we’re inviting you to be part of this next chapter. Follow along, join the conversations, share your thoughts, and help us shape what I Can, and I Wheel becomes.
Here’s to new beginnings, exciting updates, and a vibrant, supportive community. The I Can, and I Wheel blog is officially back—and together, we are more focused, more inspired, and ready to share this journey with you.
With gratitude and excitement,
Jamie & Brooke
